WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Forum Director of Policy and Advocacy Charles Hernick released the following statement after Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) gave his State of the State speech.
“Governor Hogan’s commitment to 100 percent clean electricity by 2040 clearly demonstrates his leadership in combatting greenhouse gas emissions,” said Charles Hernick, CRES Forum’s Director of Policy and Advocacy, in response to the governor’s State of the State. “If put into law, the Clean and Renewable Energy Standard (CARES) places Maryland among the first states in the nation to reach a net zero emissions goal. Governor Hogan has charted a path forward for Maryland and his plan builds on existing renewables policies and allows for new technologies, while driving clean energy investment and job growth for the state. We hope other Governors follow his lead.”
