Richard Campbell is Vice President of Policy and Research for Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES). Richard is a recognized energy policy commentator, and has been featured in newspapers such as the LA Times and the Washington Times, and interviewed in periodicals such as Popular Science magazine on current and emerging energy issues. He has also written several articles on public utility trends and industry competition in the Fortnightly magazine.
Mr. Campbell has over three decades of experience in energy policy, technology innovation, and advocacy. Prior to joining CRES, he spent over a decade at the Congressional Research Service, advising Congress on energy policy and technology issues and authoring reports on clean energy, hydrogen production, and energy storage. Richard also served for several years at the National Academy of Sciences managing studies evaluating clean energy and energy efficiency programs at the US Department of Energy. Among other career assignments, he served as a director of federal government affairs at PPL Corporation, a major public utility, and with the American Forest and Paper Association as director of energy and technology.
Richard started his career with the Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation, an architect-engineering firm in the nuclear power industry. He received a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Haven, and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. He also has an MBA degree focused on international business from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
