CRES Forum

Exploring the Energy, Climate, and Conservation Task Force Policy Pillars

CRES Academy commences October 2022

About CRES Academy

Since 2005, the United States has made significant progress in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. Domestic emissions declined by 24 percent in 2020 while emissions abroad continued to grow. Much of this reduction can be attributed to shifting power generation to cleaner energy sources. And 76% of voters—including 60% of Republicans and 73% of Independents—support the federal government taking action to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy.

Addressing climate change creates economic opportunities by growing domestic industries and providing the United States’ cleaner resources abroad. CRES Academy is a series of panel discussions and networking events that meets once a week with the goal of educating interested Hill staff about climate solutions. In keeping with McCarthy’s Energy, Climate and Conservation Task Force’s findings, this year’s program is focused on the United States’ role in addressing global emissions, hurdles to the deployment of energy infrastructure, opportunities in innovation and research and development, and utilization of natural resources and natural solutions to address climate change. CRES Forum will host industry and policy experts and provide timely perspectives on conservative climate solutions to provide actionable insights to attendees.
